Who we are

I will deliver, assures Simba

Governor Paul Simba Arati has called on Kisii County residents to exercise patience as his government takes shape.

He has stated that it has taken him a while to realign his manifesto with the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) that will act as the anchor for development in all sectors in the next five years.

In an interview, the Governor said that he is committed to fulfill his campaign pledges adding that he shoulders all the expectations of more than 1.2 million people of Kisii county.

“I will serve my people regardless of their political affiliations in the last polls. I am a governor for those who supported me and those who did not. I will strive to take the county to the next level and this is achievable given cooperation from all stakeholders,” said Simba.

He said he is on the verge of implementing all the projects that had been initiated by his predecessor like the Kenya -UK Health Alliance (KUKHA) that will be a game changer in medical research and care, a banana and avocado factory among other key projects.

The Governor called on the Kisii County workforce to work closely with him to deliver on his mandate and improve on the wellbeing of residents who have high expectations in his governance.

Commenting on the agriculture sector, Simba said his administration through the department of livestock successfully contained the spread of anthrax in Bonchari sub county that could have otherwise led to loss of lives and livestock.

In the road sector, the governor indicated that the department of infrastructure, energy and public works will endeavor to ensure that all roads across the 45 wards are motorable to cut costs incurred by farmers in accessing markets.

In the water sector, the governor asserted that he has overseen the streamlining of the Gusii Water and Sanitation Company (GWASCO) and that has addressed perennial water shortages used to be experienced within the town and its outskirts.

He assured contractors and suppliers with pending bills that they will be sorted as soon as a taskforce mandated to scrutinize accrued bills, since the inception of devolved governments, submits its report.

Simba assured county employees that they will not be sacked and that their jobs are safe and rubbished reports that the recent human resource audit was malicious and meant to victimize a few workers.

Simba said he is closely working with all elected leaders and stakeholders given that they play a crucial role in enhancing development.
