Land registry closed temporarily to pave way for digitization and reorganization

The Kisii Land Registry has been temporarily closed to pave way for digitization and reorganization.

Lands, Housing and Physical Development Acting Cabinet Secretary, Dr Fred Matiang’i and Kisii County Governor James Ongwae said the move will allow better service delivery.

Dr. Matiangi who is also the Cabinet Secretary of Information Communication and Technology said the national government will engage Kisii University Students and the National Youth Service (NYS) in the process that will last for two weeks and hailed the county government for channeling resources to the department.

Ongwae said once the records are digitized, cases of multiple land titles, poor recording and corruption will be a thing of the past.
