Functions

The core functions of the directorate are:-

  • Sub-sector policy formulation and implementation;
  • Stakeholder mapping, coordination and management;
  • Stakeholders fora coordination;
  • Identification of civil society groups (non-state actors) and integration of their activities with the County Government;
  • Public participation and civic education;
  • Coordination of Community participation in governance at the local level;
  • Disaster management, coordination, preparedness and mitigation;
  • Management of disaster response equipment(s) including Fire station(s) – to be built;
  • County Early warning and emergency community system;
  • Disaster risk management, capacity building, training and education;
  • Public communication and relations.
